Using the service
These terms apply to i2Bopomo, operated by Sciweavers LLC, USA. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree to the terms, do not use the service. Nothing here replaces rights that the law does not allow you to waive.
You must have legal capacity to agree to these terms. If you use the service for an organization, you must have authority to do so. Minors who may lawfully use the service need appropriate parent or guardian permission.
What we provide
We provide browser-based keyboards and character lookup, with a primary focus on Zhuyin (Bopomofo). The site also includes Pinyin, Cantonese and Cangjie learning paths, pronunciation references, practice exercises and personal phrase tools. Available features vary by input method.
Typing and learning tools are free to use without an account and are supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. We may change, improve, limit or discontinue a feature, or temporarily restrict access for maintenance, capacity or security. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every browser, device, font or installed voice.
Your text and personal material
You retain the rights you already hold in text, phrases and other content you use with the service. You are responsible for having permission to enter, process, copy, export or share that material, including any personal information it contains.
The current tools process your text and personal learning backups in your browser. Your use authorizes the operations you request, such as character conversion, local saving and export. It does not transfer ownership of your text or give us permission to publish or sell it.
When you choose external search, a social-post composer or email, you authorize that separate action and the information it sends to the selected destination. Review the destination’s terms and privacy practices.
Use the tools responsibly
- Use only material you are entitled to use. Respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality and other rights.
- Do not use the service to create or distribute unlawful content, impersonate others or compromise another person’s privacy or security.
- Do not submit malicious code, evade security controls, bypass request limits or overload the website with abusive automated traffic.
- Do not scrape, bulk automate or resell access in ways that interfere with the service or circumvent its intended controls. Contact us about high-volume or integrated use.
- Do not manipulate advertising, generate invalid clicks or misrepresent a practice result or exported text as a certification or endorsement by us.
Check the result before you use it
Dictionary candidates and pronunciation annotations can be incomplete or incorrect. A character can have several readings, meanings or regional forms. Tone changes in speech, word boundaries and context may require a choice that an automatic lookup cannot make for you.
Cangjie codes can differ by edition and glyph form; this keyboard combines dictionary sources and compatibility entries. Quick abbreviations can return many candidates. Always check the selected character rather than assuming that the first result is correct.
Lessons and quizzes are educational references, not an accredited course, examination or certification. Device speech is a listening aid and may not represent every regional pronunciation. Practice scores measure the exercises shown, not overall language proficiency.
Review names, numbers, readings and complete output before sharing or relying on it, especially for important communications. Fonts and downloaded formats may display differently in another application.
Save a copy you want to keep
Browser drafts and personal learning storage are conveniences, not a backup service. They may be lost when site data is cleared, browser storage is blocked, private browsing ends, a device changes or an import replaces your saved profile.
Save important text and export personal phrases or learning backups before clearing data or switching devices. You are responsible for protecting those copies. We cannot recover content that exists only in your browser. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain the controls and storage lifetimes.
External services and links
Opening Search your text sends the editor text to the provider you choose. External websites, email providers, browser or operating-system features, and other i2 websites have their own terms and privacy practices. Their availability or output can affect your experience.
We do not endorse a third party’s products or claims merely by providing a link or displaying an advertisement. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe advertising and analytics on the live website; agreeing to these terms is not consent to non-essential tracking or advertising storage.
Our website and intellectual property
The website design, branding, original explanatory material and original software are owned by us or our licensors. Dictionary data, fonts and other third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.
You may use the tools and print or save reference material using the provided controls for your study or teaching. This permission does not grant a right to copy our branding, impersonate us or redistribute proprietary parts of the service. Rights granted by separate open-source or data licenses remain unaffected.
Our rights in the website do not change your rights in your own text. For a copyright concern, contact admin@sciweavers.org with the relevant page and enough detail to identify the material and your claim.
Availability and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. You are responsible for deciding whether a tool and its output meet your needs.
To the extent permitted by law, Sciweavers LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of, or inability to use, the service, including loss of profits, opportunities or data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Restrictions, changes and contact
We may reject requests or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, legal obligations or service stability. You can stop using the service at any time; there is no account to close.
We may revise these terms as the service develops. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will receive additional notice where required by law. Changes apply prospectively, and mandatory rights under the law that applies to you remain unaffected.
