Find the complete code
Paste Chinese characters to see their complete dictionary codes, root labels and shorter Quick forms.
Lookup runs in your browser. Small public dictionary files load when needed; their requests can reflect the characters being looked up. This tool does not save your text.
Code in focus
How to use it
Start with a character you know
Paste a word or a short passage into the box.
Find the full code on each character card.
Select a code to inspect its ordered root keys.
Try the full sequence in the Cangjie keyboard, then choose the character.
For example, 明 has full code AB, 好 has VND, and 語 has YRMMR. The code comes from shape, not pronunciation.
Keep two ideas separate
Full code and Quick
A full Cangjie code keeps its complete key sequence. Quick uses its first and last letters; a one-letter code stays one letter.

YRDerived Quick
Several characters can share the same Quick form. It is a candidate lookup, not a unique answer. Do not remove the middle keys when practicing full Cangjie.
Character lookup uses complete codes from the pinned Unihan kCangjie property. That source does not guarantee one specific input-method version. Check a code against your device if its candidates differ. We show every code supplied for a character; this dataset currently supplies one code per covered character.
Are the root labels a drawing of the character?
No. They name the keys and their shape families. A sequence such as V N D is useful for learning the code for 好, but the labels 女 弓 木 are not a stroke-by-stroke drawing of 好. Study the guided decomposition examples for explanations of real character parts.
What do X and Z mean?
X names the special difficult-form code 難. It appears in designated codes such as HXH for 身; it is not a wildcard. Z is not one of the standard roots taught here, so this tool rejects it instead of inventing a label.
Why can a character have no result?
The dictionary covers more than 29,000 characters, not every Chinese character or every vendor extension. A missing code is left unfilled. A download failure is reported separately so you can retry. Rare characters may also need a font supported by your device.
Can I use this offline?
The code breakdown needs no dictionary download after its page loads. Character lookup loads a small common set and additional files on demand. Recently used files may be in your browser cache, but complete offline coverage is not guaranteed.
